Corsica moves closer to Germany

Starting in spring 2026, the beautiful Mediterranean island of Corsica will move a little closer to Germany. From June 11 to September 27, 2026, Air Corsica will offer twice-weekly direct flights from Munich to Ajaccio , the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte.

This opens up new opportunities, especially for travelers from southern Germany, to discover the island on a short trip or a longer stay . Whether it's culture, cuisine, or coastal scenery, Corsica can now be explored even more comfortably. The flight time is approximately one and a half hours.

Voices on the new connection

Frédéric Meyer, Regional Director of the French Tourism Agency Atout France , emphasizes: "The new direct flights are the culmination of a long-standing collaboration with our partners in Corsica and Germany."

With around four million German guests per year, Corsica is one of the most popular travel destinations for French German holidaymakers – a clear sign of growing demand.

The island of beauty so close

In a small area, Corsica combines beautiful beaches, authentic villages, an imposing mountain range, and Mediterranean joie de vivre. Corsica was one of the first Mediterranean islands to be awarded the "Green Destinations" gold label – for its commitment to sustainable, responsible, and balanced tourism development .

The Chair of the Supervisory Board of Air Corsica explains: "The new direct flights are an important step in line with our development strategy and the expansion of our international route network." She hopes to even extend the seasonal flights from June to September 2026 in the future.
